Marina Bay House is a cozy art filled haven perfect for 4 guests, in any season. Sitting on the edge of Lake Superior Provincial Park and near stunning white sand beaches and endless trails, both hiking and snowmobile, MBH is a perfect getaway for hikers, snowmobiles, sun worshippers and nature lovers.
MBH is also near one of only 62 Dark Sky Preserves worldwide and the night sky here is spectacular! View the stars from the private back deck at MBH or take a short drive to Sandy Beach, Government Dock Beach or walk down to the marina and take on stars seeming to be so close and bright that you could touch them!
Guests have complimentary use of an Ontario park pass which allows for access to all trails and venues in Lake Superior Provincial Park free of charge.
Michipicoten River Village, where MBH is located, is very safe, walkable to waterfalls, river trails and the marina. The village is small, less than 300 people and everyone here says hello and they’re happy to welcome MBH guests and make them feel right at home.
Marina Bay House is a four season cottage. Winter is snowmobile heaven here! Access to the official trail system is less than 1 km from the house, meaning no trailer is required to get in the trails…just park your trailer in the big driveway, unload your sled and go!
Ice fishing and snowshoeing are popular winter activities here and you don’t have to go far to do either. We can certainly assist with recommendations!
Spring is a good time to hike in Lake Superior Park before black fly season. Summer is premium time here on the eastern shore of Lake Superior! Trails are all accessible and all parts of Lake Superior Park are open, with special activities regularly scheduled at Agawa Bay Visitor Centre.
Sandy Beach is warm in the summer, and shallow with a sandy lakebed. It’s the perfect place to enjoy the crystal clear warm water, the white sand beach and the absence of large crowds. Sandy Beach is free of charge to everyone.
Fall colours are a very beautiful and special time here! The stunning mix of reds, golds, and oranges on the hills will have you stopping to take endless photos. A walk on any of the park trails during fall colours is considered the optimum time to hike; extraordinary colours, no bugs, less people…come and enjoy the eastern shore!
